My mom is 87 and was getting epidurals every 3 months. She was in agonizing pain most of the time and lived in expectancy of a better day. When learning of the MILD procedure, its simplicity and outcomes, she had no hesitation to try this procedure, possibly as a last resort. We scheduled the appointment with anticipation and were told it takes an hour. From the first step off the bed, her walk was straighter, quicker, more confident and without crippling pain. The MILD procedure has restored hope and enjoyment to a much limited and unpleasant life experience. She can breathe again, go out with no fear, walk around a store and face a new day without being a “person in pain”. Anyone who lives this way should (or may I say MUST) be evaluated for this procedure. Why suffer that way if it is simply unnecessary!
I feel incredibly better. Your staff has been helpful and professional. I would highly recommend this clinic for anyone with back problems.
Prior to the pain treatments, I had been in pain for over 15 years. I was hesitant to see a pain specialist for fear of not knowing what the outcome may be. The Franklin Pain and Wellness Center took away my fear and now I’m not worried about the outcome of treatments. I feel that Franklin Pain has gotten a handle on my personal case and future treatment. I always speak highly of this clinic when anyone asks how I’m doing.
I fell in May 2012 injuring my back severely but x-rays showed nothing. Dr. Shwartzman was recommended to me at the “pain clinic”. He ordered an MRI and found that I had a fractured vertebrae. A Kyphoplasty was done by Dr. Shwartzman and I felt better.
While recuperating at home, two weeks later, I turned over on the sofa and more fractures happened. We put into the insurance company for permission to repair the other fractured vertebrae. They denied the procedures and I remained bed-ridden because I could barely walk, even to go to the bathroom. It was necessary to get an attorney involved in my case. The insurance company decided to give permission for the Kyphoplasty repair to be done. The reason they apparently denied at first was because they felt there wasn’t any proof that the procedures worked.
Each time I returned to the pain clinic for a re-check, more fractures were found. My husband had to walk me to the rest room because I wasn’t able to walk on my own. I couldn’t even bathe myself because I wasn’t able to stand. Whenever we went to the pain clinic and my husband drove over bumps, I screamed in pain.
Now, after 6 Kyphoplasty procedures, I am able to walk! At first I needed 2 canes to walk, and then I was able to go to one cane. Now I can walk without a cane for short distances. I still have pain if I am on my feet for long periods or walking long distances, but this pain is nothing in comparison to the pain I was in before the Kyphoplasty procedures.
Dr. Shwartzman gave me my life back and I am so thankful that Kyphoplasty was available to me. People told me before the Kyphoplasty was done that my skin color was gray because of the pain I was in. Now I have my normal skin color and I feel so much better thanks to Dr. Shwartzman and the Kyphoplasty procedures. If anyone has fractured vertebrae, Dr. Shwartzman can help. He certainly helped me. I can’t say enough about the Kyphoplasty procedure and how it helped me, and I can’t thank Dr. Shwartzman enough for his expertise and how much he has helped me.
“I have been in pain in my back, neck and legs since 1999. I had to use a cane and then had to use Canadian crutches to help me walk. I was always in pain and my activities were always shortened, not to mention the pain medication I was taking, which was not helping. Before going to Dr. Boris I was worried that I would get worse, but I had too much pain and my quality of life was limited. I couldn’t walk nor stand [for too long] before I had to sit. Even sitting for a long period of time was painful. Today I feel much better. I still have pain but nothing like before. I don’t use the cane nor do I use my Canadian crutches. After the nerve blocks my life is better, I’m more active and more mobile. I am so thankful to Dr. Boris and recommend the pain treatment to everyone. My life is so much better I am happier and now can enjoy myself with my family. My wife is happier also.”
Cathy was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and lumbar facet syndrome. Dr. Boris Shwartzman successfully performed Radiofrequency Neurotomy and was able to increase Cathy’s functional level while decreasing her medication dosage. She is able to continue her full time job and her quality of life has significantly improved.
“Five years of pain almost all of the time. I was taking pain medication every three hours and did not want to be on medication anymore. I would recommend to everyone to go to this pain center because the people there will care about you. I want to thank all of them for taking care of me.”
“I have been in pain since an auto accident in 2004. The doctor’s solution who I was seeing prior to coming to the pain center, was medication and physical therapy. I felt that physical therapy and medications would not work due to me having Harrington Steel Rods in my lower back since 1983. I was trying to manage my pain with one Tylenol-3 per day, so my primary doctor recommended the pain clinic. My biggest fear was that it would not help and I would require nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablation procedures for the rest of my life. Dr. Chan placed a spinal cord stimulator and now instead of pain running my life, I control the pain. I would recommend this treatment to others in a heartbeat.”
“I had been in pain for over seven years. I tried so many treatments and medications to help. Nothing worked. My last specialist was the staff at Warwick Pain Center. Dr. Shwartzman and his staff truly helped and I have recommended them to others. Although I can’t say I’m pain free, I can say that my quality of life is so much better.”
